Nothing Left to Say Lyrics

I know we've all had times where life has kicked you in the teeth so hard that you don't know which way is up, or how to even hope for blue skies after today. That is a very lonely place filled with a lot of self loathing and despair. You don't ever want to admit that you've had the wind knocked out of you, but there's just no denying that reality. When I wrote this song I was at a low place, feeling completely betrayed, lied to, and alone. At those times nothing anyone can say will soothe the wounds that you've suffered. And you don't want to hear any words of encouragement until you've had a chance to mourn and grieve. The only thing that you can tell someone is to pray that your hope returns tomorrow, because this day will forever live in infamy. And after that truth is realized, there is Nothing Left to Say.

Nothing Left to Say

The feeling of always standing at the back door waiting

Hours and hours for just a few minutes of time

I’ve been kicked down so many times I’m on the edge of breaking

Staring down the barrel of losing my own mind

There’s so little left of me

I’m crying as I see myself from the outside

Hoping there might be

Relief on the other side

Pray my hope returns tomorrow

Cause I can’t face another today

I search for light in my eyes but loss is all that remains

So there’s not a lot that I’ve got left to say

The demons on my back are digging into my shoulders

Trying and trying to always drag me down

Please set me free

I’m drowning as I’m swimming against this riptide

Begging for some mercy

From the thousand tears I’ve cried

Pray my hope returns tomorrow

Cause I can’t face another today

I search for light in my eyes but loss is all that remains

So there’s not a lot that I’ve got left to say

There’s a drumming

Pounding louder

Give me peace before I go

Pray my hope returns tomorrow

Cause I can’t face another today

I search for light in my eyes but loss is all that remains

So there’s nothing left to say

No, no, no, no, no

Yeah, yeah, yeah
